I just finished watched Grey's Anatomy; Season 5 Episode 14, Beat your heart out.
Every Grey's episode I have watched thus far has always had the ability to make me tear/cry.
Even when I'm watching it for the second time.
Anyway, in this show there is a character, Virginia Dixon. She is a surgeon with Asperger's syndrome.
I also happen to be reading 'House Rules' by Jodi Picoult. Her story has a teenager with Asperger's as the main character.
Well that doesn't really matter.
So in this Grey's episode Dixon mentions that "Cows are squeezed tightly in a chute before they're slaughtered. The chute applies intense pressure, resulting in decreased pulse rate, and muscle tone." This chute calms the cows down.
This was observed by Temple Grandin at her aunt's ranch.
Temple Grandin is a woman who was diagnosed with autism but that is just one of the things that defines her. There was an HBO movie made about her which was how I found out about her and researched her (okay, basically I Google-d her name =/ ).
Anyway, I find her very interesting. I'm really not good with the words. This post might probably be confusing.
Anyway I happen to chance upon an article online. Just a small section on 'How to think like an animal' by Temple Grandin.
I'm amazed by her work.
I'll end with a quote that is about an issue that I've been thinking about for a very long time.
"I think using animals for food is an ethical thing to do, but we've got to do it right. We've got to give those animals a decent life and we've got to give them a painless death. We owe the animal respect."
—Temple Grandin
Haven't felt so ...free in a long time.
Crazy Li Jing treated me to dinner.
$$$$$ I SWEAR SHE IS CRAZY. SHE IS ALSO SUCH A GOOD FRIEND. Thoughtful friend :)
Thank you so much for asking me out :)
Had such a great time. Talking so much. I wish we could have stayed a little longer.
It was so great to have someone listen to you and understand you. It's great to have someone to pour your thoughts out to.
Right now she's the only one who knows what's been cooking up in my head.
Tried a new hotpot restaurant today. I honestly thought I wouldn't like it. But it was something different :)
After that, walked around and sat down to chatchatchat.
Love you bitch <3

MEREDITH: "Maybe we're not supposed to be happy. Maybe gratitude has nothing to do with joy. Maybe being grateful means recognizing what you have for what it is. Appreciating small victories. Admiring the struggle it takes simply to be human. Maybe we're thankful for the familiar things we know. And maybe we're thankful for the things we'll never know. At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing is reason enough to celebrate."
Wish I could blurt everything.
But, for some reasons, I can't.
I have so much I want to post about.
I don't wanna say wait for it because then I prolly won't end up doing it.
In any case, I have missed you so.

MY FAVOURITE SHOWS ARE STARTING THEIR NE
But the thing is we almost always already have an answer in the back of our minds.
All we need in the push in the right direction. All we need is the acceptance, I guess, ultimately, from the people we admire, respect and love.
Sometimes it helps that our loved ones are on board and on the same track as us. Or at least that they support us in the track that we pick for ourselves.

On an unrelated note (I think, actually not so much) , the relationship you have with your parents or with your guardians is crucial. It determines the relationships you have with other people in your life. It does, be it in a good or bad way.
Which reminds me of a song and a singer whose songs I haven't listened to in months.
Anyway I have been watching and re-watching Mad Men.
That show taught and has been teaching me quite a bit.
How screwed people can get when they don't have a loving, 'whole' family.
And if you observe carefully you'll see just how child-like and childish some of the adults are behaving, just by their expressions and mannerisms. It always leaves me in awe.
Actually I don't really have an issue to worry about.
Most of the times, this is the case.
You gotta make a choice.
Money or Passion?
Reputation or Opportunity?
I've made my choice.
And it is the latter of both questions.
I'm excited and nervous.
I hope I get to seize this wonderful opportunity.
Not to mention it'll do wonders for me in the future!
:D
I am veryvery happy or rather, content! :D
